After You Make the Leap: Why Doubt Doesn't Mean You Made the Wrong Decision
Hello :)
Have you ever made a decision you knew was right...
Only to question it a few days later?
I have.
In fact, I think almost everyone who has ever made a meaningful change has experienced this.
We often believe that once we finally make the decision—leave the job, move to a new city, end the relationship, start the business—we'll instantly feel confident.
But that's rarely how change works.
More often, excitement is quickly followed by doubt.
And that's where many people convince themselves they made a mistake.
When I decided to leave Canada and begin a new chapter in Uruguay, I was certain it was the right decision.
It came from a place of peace, not impulse.
But that didn't mean I never questioned it.
There were moments when I missed what was familiar.
Moments when I wondered if I had done the right thing.
Moments when everything felt uncertain.
What I've learned is this:
Doubt after a big decision is normal.
It doesn't mean you've chosen the wrong path.
It simply means you've stepped into unfamiliar territory.
Our minds love certainty.
Our hearts love growth.
Sometimes those two don't agree.
That's why so many people return to situations they've already outgrown.
Not because they were happier there...
But because they were familiar.
Growth asks us to become comfortable with uncertainty.
To trust ourselves even when we don't yet have proof that everything will work out.
Looking back now, every challenge I faced after moving to Uruguay taught me something valuable.
I became more resilient.
More adaptable.
More confident in my ability to create a home wherever I am.
Had I turned back during those difficult moments, I would have missed the life I'm building today.
Maybe you're in that season right now.
You've already made the decision.
You've already taken the leap.
Now you're wondering if you should turn back.
Before you do...
Pause.
Ask yourself this question:
Am I uncomfortable because I made the wrong decision... or because I'm growing into a new version of myself?
The answer may change everything.
Growth isn't comfortable.
Transformation isn't supposed to feel familiar.
But if your decision came from a place of honesty, alignment, and self-respect, don't let temporary discomfort convince you that you've made a permanent mistake.
Sometimes you simply need to stay the course long enough to see why life asked you to be brave in the first place.
A Personal Invitation
If this blog speaks to where you are today, know that you're not alone.
I understand what it feels like to question yourself after making a life-changing decision because I've lived it.
As a coach, I don't guide people from theory alone—I guide them through the lessons I've learned while navigating my own transitions, rebuilding my life, and learning to trust myself even when the outcome wasn't clear.
That is what makes my coaching different.
Together, we'll create space for clarity, confidence, and meaningful action so you can stop second-guessing yourself and start trusting the person you're becoming.
If you're standing in the middle of uncertainty and wondering what comes next, I'd love to walk alongside you.

The decision to change isn't the end of the journey.
It's the beginning of becoming the person you've always been capable of being.
